Is HTC 0P6BXXX the M8? If yes, the new flagship may be headed to Verizon, AT&T and T-Mobile

The Bluetooth SIG recently approved a new HTC smartphone listed as the 0P6BXXX / HTC 6525LVW. We have reasons to believe that this is the unannounced HTC M8 / One 2. 

Not long ago, @evleaks (who almost always provides accurate details) referred to the M8 as the “0P6B”. Before that, the M8 appeared in a benchmark test as the 0P6B120. So an educated guess can only lead us to the conclusion that this is the next One.

The Bluetooth SIG reveals that the P6BXXX has software that’s been certified for three major US mobile carriers: Verizon, AT&T and T-Mobile. All three are already selling the 2013 HTC One, so we shouldn’t be surprised to see them offering the new model as well. As you can tell, Sprint isn’t mentioned here, but that doesn’t necessarily mean it won’t plan to launch the M8 at some point.

might announce the M8 in March. The new smartphone reportedly features a 1080p display of around 5 inches, Android 4.4 KitKat with Sense 6.0 UI (including on-screen buttons), quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, 5MP front-facing camera, a twin-sensor rear camera, 2GB of RAM, and MicroSD card support to complement the internal memory.

Like the original HTC One, the M8 / One 2 should be joined by a Mini and a dual SIM version later this year. We haven't heard anything about a maxi version, but that doesn't mean this can't be in the pipeline too.

Alleged HTC M8 screenshot shows new Sense 6.0 UI with on-screen keys

Yes, the HTC M8 (aka One 2, aka One+) is coming soon. Unfortunately, we still don’t know how soon. Until the Taiwanese company decides to finally unveil its next-generation flagship smartphone, @evleaks today posted what seems to be the first screenshot of the new handset’s UI. 

As previously reported, the HTC M8 is supposed to run Android 4.4 KitKat with Sense 6.0 UI - and it appears that what we’re having here is indeed Sense 6.0. It doesn’t look too different from the current Sense 5.5 UI, but there is a big change: it has on-screen buttons (just as rumored).

We’re expecting the HTC M8 to feature a 1080 x 1920 pixels display of around 5 inches, a twin-sensor camera on the back, a 5MP front-facing camera, quad-core Snapdragon processor, and 2GB or 3GB of RAM.

It’s said that HTC would officially announce the M8 in late March in New York City. Like the first-gen HTC One, the new flagship should be offered in multiple color versions. Moreover, mini and a dual SIMvariants are also expected to                                                                      arrive at some point.
